Important Updates Affecting Banking Forms
Some bank websites may still display earlier forms. Check the current requirements before submitting an application.
| Subject | What has changed | What customers should know |
|---|---|---|
| Bank deposits and locker nomination | From 1 November 2025, up to four nominees are permitted. Deposits can have simultaneous or successive nominees; lockers and safe-custody articles use successive nomination. | For multiple nominees, ask for the current form or service that supports your intended arrangement. |
| Form 60 / Form 97 | The Income-tax Rules, 2026 introduce Form 97 for applicable declarations in place of the earlier Form 60 framework. | Check the applicable effective date and form for your transaction rather than relying on an older PDF. |
| Forms 15G and 15H / Form 121 | Form 121 is the applicable declaration under the 2026 rules for relevant tax years beginning on or after 1 April 2026. | Use the declaration applicable to the tax year and your eligibility. |
This is general guidance, not a finding that any particular bank is non-compliant. Check official RBI and Income Tax Department instructions and the relevant bank’s latest forms.
